Ok, that´s it.

If people don´t use watermarks that actually give the viewer a fucking a idea of who they are and where they can be find I won´t bother anymore to find the real artist of a stolen art work.

If you don´t put your name / link  / ANY GOD DAMN INFO on your image you seem not to care if people take your art without crediting you.

How are people supposed to find the place the picture actually is from???
I always did my best to search for the orignal aritsts here and on other art websites as well. But I don´t care anymore. I won´t use my time for finding artists that have been stolen from if they make it so hard to get found.

I haven't been able to make a watermark yet. :/
So I mainly use DA's watermark and in some of my art I put the signature. I think I should probably put my signature on all of them. XD
So I hope people can still find me if this were to happen.

I just put my user. If you search it up you could find it thankfully.

I keep saying this. xD I've been doing it for years.

Yes, people CAN crop it out, and they sometimes do, but it's better than relying on the entirety of the world recognizing your signature. Maybe 10 people can do that. A url is very obvious. It's the best way to do it.

No matter who you are or what you draw, your art is going to be or has been reposted. What better way to make sure there is always a "source" than to put one of your galleries' URLs on it?!

ah, you know thats for putting this to my attention

i mean my watermark is just a pixel saying of Ittam.
because Ittam is a word some other stuff comes up but if you scroll down my dA still should appear.

do you think it would be better to just make one that's "silverittam" instead of Ittam? (its because i also go by Ittam on most sites)

Up to you. If you think you are easier to find by silverittam it might be a better idea than just ittam (especially if ittam is a word)

I mean it would be nice if everyone did this but...people still deserve to have their stuff not stolen.

Yeah, I've seen this too, like... Please, I can't tell who you are if your signature is a small flower. There's a reason why I made my signature very clear. If anything, I should consider editing something like @ DA or such there too.

But yes... If your signature is something I can't read, a small drawing of a flower/paw/heart/whatever or something like your initials that I can't find by just googling... p l e a s e... And the people who claim that the watermark ruins the drawing... Well, maybe, but artists don't want their art stolen. If art thieves didn't exist, artists wouldn't need watermarks. :/

I use water mark since beginning of this year :3 It has only name of my account, but if you write it in Google Images you will already find pics of my account.

From what I can see it's just initials, and while that helps to identify your art with your gallery, you cant type those initials into google and find yourself. So someone could still steal your art or have trouble tracing it back to you. Hope that helps :3c

eh, thanks!
Honestly art can get stolen no matter how much you try to protect it. Hope people who want to find someone's gallery try to put it into reverse image search first.

omg I've run into this problem so many times trying to track down artists!! I don't know how many times I've gotten a cinnadog or something in a trade, AND NONE OF THE ART HAS CREDITS OR A READABLE WATERMARK. SO I HAVE TO GO HUNT FOR IT.

IVE SPENT HOURS DOING THIS. PLEASE PEOPLE.

-points to my own clear watermark- HONESTLY ITS NOT HARD.

so true!!!

I hate seeing artists pics online, but there's absolutely no way of tracking the origin of it. It's not hard adding a watermark, or a signauture.

Some people don´t want watermarks on their arts cause they think "it ruins the art". I can understand it but they should not be shocked then if shit like this happens.

Some artists are able to integrate a signautre, and it doesn't 'ruin the art', so that statement isn't entirely true.

And some watermarks look so awesome that i think they are just part of the art itself xD
