Really? Offering to enter a discord channel in exchange for a patreon payment? Offering people to chat with you for money? Wow.. that´s the most arrogant bullshit I ever saw on dA and I was here when the CS battles started. Just wow.
I've seen this as a reward on several youtuber's patreons. I think it makes sense for them, if they're really popular. Those creators can't reply to every comment they get on a video, as much as they'd like to. I suppose paying to get into a private discord server would ensure that the top fans get to be able to communicate with their favorite creators. Besides, what you're paying for is support for the creator. The access to the server is just a perk, something extra, so the creator can show their appreciation to the people willing to pay for something that is typically free. If somebody decided to start paying me just for me doing what I've been doing for free, I'd want to show them my thanks by regularly chatting with them and getting their individual feedback.
Ok now who comes up with this?? And is it working??
Just kidding. xD The only time its reasonable to make a person pay to talk to you is if you're exchanging important information ONLY meant for the buyer. But if its just regular chit-chat then I'm sorry no, that's just nonsense.
Patreon doesn't offer the ability for your patreon community to chat and interact with you and each other, though. Patreon has its limits in creatING a community around you and discord can pick up that.
Not to mention that if I ever lost patreon, I would have used and replaced patreon with a combination of discord+paypal .me or ko-fi.
I don't know, I kind of understand why this is a thing.
With so many people around that just comment on things to be hateful it kind of makes sense. Not many people would pay money each month to be part of something they hate which weeds out all those that just want to be mean to either the 'famous' person or their followers. It also keeps the server clean and small enough that should something happen it can be taken care of quickly.
I get it from the stand point of a creator who has gotten nasty comments from people I don't know and wouldn't want to open myself up to that on a private server.
idots <--- ist das absicht? XD Idioten/ Idols mix?
Hum....Tbh,I have no opinion on that. Maybe it's some sort of Discord channel to talk about some secrets stuff or something?Like the Facts of how one character was made up or allowing one person to give ideas? That's the best options I could find to give that some interest. Or maybe it's really just for money, heck do I know Guess we all have a different Point of view of our relationship towards our community and some peeps see it more under the angle of Money. Welp.I Imagine that's one way to earn their life in this capitalist society that is ours, afterall.
Oh and btw, What, was this "CS battles" thing?I don't think I was around when it happened, and I'm quite curious on what dis is.
